Friday GP: Training in Happiness through Meditation

Happiness is something we can train in. In particular we can learn to use the difficulties in our life as the very means for improving our happiness. The key is to learn to identify those states of mind that produce unhappiness and tightness, such as anger and attachment and instead to replace them gradually with flexible, skillful, peaceful minds such as acceptance, love, confidence, and wisdom. In this series we will explore training in happiness in situations we are all familiar with, such as work, family and relationships, and also just being with ourselves.
